Chem. Comm. 2011, 47, 929–931: Facile fabrication of robust multilayer films: visible light-triggered chemical cross-linking by the catalysis of ruthenium(II) complex.
Highly stable covalently attached multilayer films were constructed by visible-light irradiation of hydrogen-bonding directed multilayer films of poly(allylamine) and poly(4-vinylphenol).

[2011][Chem. Commun., 2011,47: 4276-4278]Donor–acceptor Type Silole Compounds with Aggregation–Induced Deep–red Emission Enhancement: Synthesis and Application for Significant Intensification of Near–infrared Photoluminescence
Through efficient F?rster resonance energy transfer, the near-infrared emission (850 nm) of a guest (weak near-infrared emitter)–host (strong deep-red emitter) system is greatly enhanced by excitation of the host molecule at 508 nm, in comparison with excitation of the guest molecule at 660 nm.

[2011][J. Mater. Chem., 2011,21, 7678-7685]A Precursor Strategy for the Synthesis of Low Band–Gap Polymers: An Efficient Route to a Series of Near–Infrared Electrochromic Polymers
A precursor strategy for the synthesis and screening of a series of conjugated donor–acceptor polymersis demonstrated by successful preparation of low band-gap polymers(P2–P5) containing triphenylamineas anelectron donor and several heterocycles as acceptors, such as[1,2,5]thiadiazolo[3,4-g]quinoxaline,[1,2,5]thiadiazolo[3,4-i]dibenzo[a,c]phenazine, benzo[1,2-c:4,5-c′]bis([1,2,5]thiadiazole),...

[2012][J. Mater. Chem., 2012, 22: 12867-12873]Synthesis and study of low-bandgap polymers containing the diazapentalene and diketopyrrolopyrrole chromophores for potential use in solar cells and near-infrared photodetectors
The two pairs of structurally related donor–acceptor polymers(P1–P4) derived from diketopyrrolopyrrole(DPP) and diazapentalene(DAP) building blocks were synthesized and compared for their optical and photovoltaic properties with potential applications in solar cells and near-infrared (NIR) photodetectors. Having the electron-rich fluoreneand bis(2′-thienyl)pyrrole (TPT) units as donors, the s...

[2012][Chem. Mater., 2012, 24 (11), 2178–2185]Efficient and Stable Non–Doped Near Infrared Organic Light–Emitting Devices Based on Aggregation–Induced Emission Enhancement Fluorophores
A family of donor–acceptor–donor (D–A–D) type near-infrared (NIR) fluorophores containing rigid nonplanar conjugated tetraphenylethene (TPE) moieties was designed and synthesized through Stille coupling reactions with electron-deficient [1,2,5]thiadiazolo[3,4-g]quinoxaline (QTD) or benzo[1,2-c;4,5-c′]bis[1,2,5]thiadiazole (BBTD) as acceptors. The absorption, fluorescence, and electrochemica...

A fluorescence sensory polymer (P1) consisting of pentiptycene and tetraphenylethene (TPE) units linked by acetylene was synthesized for direct detection of explosives in solution and air. At the same time, the effectiveness of thicker film in the presence of the TPE moiety for the detection of explosives was investigated. Fluorescence turn-off detection of picric acid (PA) was carried out in H2...

[Polym. Chem.] Topological Analysis and Intramolecular Cyclic Feature Evaluation of Highly Branched Polymers Derived from Am+Bn Step-Growth Polymerization
In this contribution, we investigated the evaluation strategy for intramolecular cyclic features of polymers derived from Am + Bn (m ≥ 2 and n ≥ 2) step-growth polymerization from a topological analysis perspective. The general quantitative relationship between the structural units and the cyclic structures was presented
regardless of the terminal groups of polymers. Further, two strat...

[J POLYM SCI POL CHEM] An H-Shaped Polymer Bonding β-Cyclodextrin at Branch Points: Synthesis and Influences of Attached β-Cyclodextrins on Physical Properties
We report on the synthesis of an H-shaped polymer bonding β-cyclodextrin (β-CD) at branch points and influences of attached β-CD on physical properties. The glass transition temperature (Tg) and lower critical solution temperature (LCST) of the H-shaped polymer increased after the attachment of b-CD. The self-assembly and thermal responsive behaviors, as well ...

[Polym. Chem.] A branching point thermo and pH dual-responsive hyperbranched polymer based on poly(N-vinylcaprolactam) and poly(N,N-diethyl aminoethyl methacrylate)
We report the design and synthesis of a branching point stimuli-responsive hyperbranched polymer based on poly(N-vinylcaprolactam) and poly(N,N- diethylaminoethyl methacrylate) through combined “A2 + BxC” (x > 2) double monomer polymerization and parallel click reaction. The results of ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometry and dynamic light scattering (DLS) indicated that the r...

[Polym. Chem.] Miktoarm star polymers with poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) or poly(oligo(ethylene glycol) methacrylate) as building blocks: synthesis and comparison of thermally-responsive behaviors
We synthesized two thermally-responsive miktoarm star polymers in which poly(Nisopropylacrylamide) (PNIPAM) or poly(oligo(ethylene glycol) methacrylate) (POEGMA) served as the thermosensitive building blocks. The obtained miktoarm star polymers were comprised of a b-CD core, a PEG arm and about six PNIPAM or POEGMA arms. Furthermore, the thermally-responsive behaviors of the mik...
